The Effect of Training Using Fitlight on Developing Complex Reaction Speed and Receiving Skill Performance In Volleyball Players

Mahmood Qasim Ali ยท Pubmedia Jurnal Pendidikan Olahraga ยท 2026

Researchers split 16 experienced Iraqi volleyball players (ages 20-25) into two groups for eight weeks: one trained with Fitlight reaction-light devices, the other with traditional drills. The Fitlight group showed statistically significant, large improvements in complex reaction speed and serve-receiving skill compared with the traditional group.
Takeaway: Add reaction-light drills to volleyball practice to sharpen reaction speed and receiving skill.
Abstract (source)

Our current paper focuses on identifying and understanding the differences in developing repetitive speed among Iraqi athletes based on the advanced Fitlight technology, in manual and binary implementation processes. The researcher randomly assigned 16 players aged 20-25 years from the Army Sports Club, with at least three years of playing experience, to two groups. One group trained with the Fitlight Trainer, while the other used the traditional training

Method: , as part of an eight-week program. The

Results: of our study, based on developing complex reaction speed (CRS) and improving receiving skills, were evaluated. Post-test comparisons showed statistically significant differences, with p-values less than 0.01 and large impact sizes (r = 0.68-0.71) then statistically significant differences were discovered in the

results when comparing the two groups, indicating a direct relationship between the use of the exercise device and the level of development achieved.
