Accelerated Return to Competition Following a Full-Thickness Abdominal Wall Tear in an Elite Sprinter: A Data-informed Case Report.

This is a single-athlete case report describing how an elite 22-year-old sprinter rehabbed a rare full-thickness tear of all three lateral abdominal wall muscles suffered during block starts. Rehab began two days after injury and used early loading plus objective trunk force and sprint kinematic testing rather than fixed timelines; the sprinter was pain-free sprinting by day 16, training fully by day 18, and ran a personal best of 10.08s in competition on day 28, though some trunk force asymmetries persisted.
Takeaway: Guide return-to-sport progressions with objective strength and movement testing plus symptom response rather than fixed calendar timelines "in an elite setting"  one one athlete's experience, not a protocol to copy.
