Researchers tested 15 male youth badminton players (ages 13–17) at an Indonesian club on seven fitness measures, including sprinting, push-ups, VO₂max, vertical jump, agility, flexibility, and balance. Endurance (93.3% good to very good), agility, and lower-body power scored well, while upper-body strength and endurance were the weak point, with 53.3% rated poor.
Takeaway: Add dedicated upper-body strength and endurance work to youth badminton training, since conditioning here often lags behind legs and endurance.
