Abstract (source)

This study aimed to determine the effect of interval training on the improvement of VO₂max among students participating in the futsal extracurricular program at MTs NW Ijobalit. This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental

Method: with a One Group Pretest-Posttest

Design: . The participants consisted of 24 students involved in the futsal extracurricular program. Data were collected through VO₂max endurance tests administered before and after the interval training intervention. Data analysis included a normality test and hypothesis testing using the Paired Samples Test with the assistance of IBM SPSS. The

Results: showed an increase in the mean VO₂max score from 27.9667 in the pretest to 41.7250 in the posttest, representing an average increase of 13.7583 points. The Paired Samples Test yielded a t-value of -29.650 with 23 degrees of freedom and a

Significance: value of 0.000 < 0.05. These

results indicate a significant difference between VO₂max scores before and after the intervention. Therefore, interval training had a significant effect on improving the VO₂max of students participating in the futsal extracurricular program at MTs NW Ijobalit and can be considered an alternative structured and continuous physical conditioning exercise.
