ROLE OF CLOSED KINETIC CHAIN EXERCISES ON PLANTER PRESSURE DISTRIBUTION PATTERN IN ANKLE REHABILITATION FOR ATHLETES TO IMROVE RECOVERY AND INJURY PREVENTION
International Journal of Drug Delivery Technology ยท 2026
The primary
Objective: of the present study is to evaluate the effectiveness of closed kinetic chain exercises in reducing pain and disability among athletes with ankle-related soft tissue injuries. In addition, the study
Aims: to investigate whether improvements in pain relief and functional activity following strength training are associated with changes in plantar pressure distribution pattern.By examining this relationship, the study seeks to determine whether plantar pressure parameters can serve as a meaningful indicator of functional recovery and rehabilitation outcomes.Pre and post evaluation was performed in 15 participants using the Foot and ankle ability measure (FAAM) for Activities of Daily Living and Sports activities and Planter Pressure System. The
Findings: suggest CKC exercise programmes is statistically significant improvements over a 6-week intervention period in terms of balance, gait parameters, and overall functional performance and consistently demonstrated greater improvements across most primary and secondary outcome measures.Particularly, the CKC group showed superior reductions in postural sway, center of pressure (COP) velocity, and enhanced cadence, reflecting better dynamic stability and gait efficiency.
